Joseph W. Purcell, D.O., graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine Midwestern University, Downersgrove, Illinois, in June 1986 where he was the Student-Faculty Liaison. He completed his internship at Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois, in June 1987. Dr. Purcell completed his residency in family practice at Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, in June 1989. Dr. Purcell earned Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biology, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania, in May 1981.

Dr. Purcell is Board Certified in Family Practice through the American Board of Family Practice. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and received the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award in 1999. Dr. Purcell was voted one of the “Best Doctors” by Better Living Magazine for 2003-2004.

Dr. Purcell has staff privileges in the Department of Family Practice at Saint Clare’s Hospital, 25 Pocono Road, Denville, New Jersey. He currently provides patient care at our Landing, New Jersey, office location.
